Every year on the February 14 bulgarian people celebrate the day of the wine maker "Triffon Zarezan ". On this day the last wine from the previous year is drunk and the pruning of the vines is started, the vines that will prodice the sweet grape for the young wine.


The tradition rules the first pruned vine branch to be poured with wine with a wish for furtility ,to be made into a circle and to be placed on the head like a crown as a thnkgiving to the patron of the wine makers - Saint Triffon. .

The legend says, that Saint Triffon, while pruning the vines , laughed at the Holy Virgin, and she cursed him to cut his nose. This way he was named Triffon Zarezan (The cut)

This day is the great day for osmar Wine Cellar. In the vinyards,in the village square , in the wine cellar - everywhere the perky horo dance are weaved with a hundreds of guests from Bulgaria and abroad. After that on a big tables the guests eat the delicious dishes and drink wine - everybody by his capabilities.
It is a Holy day!
